Whitelisting Clemson email that goes to quarantine

Estimated Reading Time: 1 Minutes

If you see an email in your quarantine list that you believe should be whitelisted so it will not automatically go into email quarantine for Clemson users, send an email to ITHELP@clemson.edu .

In the subject line put:   Security - Whitelisting

Include in the email:

  • Name of email sender
  • Subject
  • Date/time sent

The security team will take a look and decide about whitelisting.

If you are planning to send a mass internal email that might possibly need to be checked, it is recommended that you email ITHELP@clemson.edu before sending so they can test the email address to see if it will be quarantined.  In the subject line of the email,  put:  Security - Whitelisting and in the email put in details of the from email address and the purpose of the mass internal email.  The Security team will decide about whitelisting if the message will go to quarantine.

Please continue to check the Microsoft Quarantine messages that come to your Clemson email to make sure that messages you need are not going to quarantine.

Note: all of the above only applies to username@clemson.edu email and not any form of gmail including g.clemson.edu.

If you have questions about this, email ITHELP@clemson.edu or call 864-656-3494.
