Grammarly

Grammarly Premium is now available to all Clemson employees and students. Grammarly offers over 400 types of checks and features, checks for grammatical errors, provides vocabulary enhancement suggestions, detects plagiarism, and provides citation suggestions.

Accessing Grammarly

  • Visit grammarly.com.
  • Select Log In.
  • Enter your Clemson email address (@clemson.edu, not g.clemson.edu) and proceed through the standard Clemson login process.

Clemson users have access to several helpful Grammarly features, including:

  • Online editor
  • Web browser extension
  • Microsoft Office Plug-in

Visit the Grammarly support page to learn more about available options.

Do you already have a personal Grammarly account registered under a @clemson.edu email address?

To resolve this issue and use Clemson's Grammarly Premium subscription:

  1. Log into your account using your old Grammarly password.
  2. Change the registered email address to a personal one.
  3. The next time you try to log into Grammarly with their @clemson.edu email address, it should redirect you through the Clemson login process.

Grammarly security

The Grammarly Editor (app.grammarly.com) has been approved for Public and Internal Use data.  Documents that users save in the Grammarly Editor are stored by Grammarly so users can access them again when desired. Documents are stored until they are deleted by the user through the Grammarly Editor.

Grammarly services (Grammarly keyboard apps, Microsoft add-in, browser extensions, etc.) are authorized for all classification levels.  Grammarly services access only the text written while actively using a Grammarly client application and data is not retained after closing an application, changing browser tabs, or switching between text fields.  Additionally, Grammarly is blocked from accessing anything typed in text fields marked “sensitive,” such as credit card forms or password fields.

For information on data classifications, visit CCIT's Data Classification page.
