In accordance with Clemson University’s Username and Password Policy, one year after graduation, your Clemson Username will be deactivated. This means all your access to Clemson student resources will no longer be available.
We suggest you prepare with the following steps before you graduate:
All Clemson University students have access to Microsoft Office as part of Clemson University’s site licensing agreement. Our agreement also allows us to reinstall Microsoft Windows on your laptop when the need arises. Once you graduate, you will no longer qualify to use Clemson’s site-licensed software. Alumni are eligible for a discounted Microsoft Office 365 Personal license, available at https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/education/alumni-discount.
There is a tool available to transfer the content of your Clemson g.clemson.edu gmail to a new gmail account. Click here for an article on using Google Transfer to transfer data from your g.clemson.edu gmail to a public gmail account.
Note: you can also use Google Transfer to transfer data from your Clemson Google Drive to your new Google Drive but be cautious if you have a lot of data. Free public Google accounts have limited data (often 15 GB) and your Clemson Google Drive may have a lot more data than that. If that is the case, you can also use Google Takeout to download your Clemson Google Drive to .zip files that you can see on your computer.
If you have any questions or need assistance with any of the things mentioned on this page, please feel free to email ITHELP@clemson.edu or call the CCIT Support Center at 864-656-3494.
